Expressions of interest now open for our Community Grants Assessment Panel
Maitland City Council is inviting expressions of interest (EOIs) for its Community Grants Assessment Panel. We’re looking for members of the Maitland community who bring experience and knowledge in the community sector to help support our Community Grants Programs.
Panel members will add value to the grant application assessment process, providing recommendations to Council regarding the distribution and allocation of funding to both our Bi Annual and Year Round Grants Programs.
Maitland City Council's Community Grants Program aims to build a resilient, inclusive and thriving community, reflecting our commitment to social justice, equity and civic engagement. For more information, please refer to the Community Grants Program Guidelines and Policy on our website.
Two community representative positions are available on the panel, along with two Council delegates, a mayoral representative and a non voting Council officer. We encourage motivated individuals who live or work in Maitland and have relevant experience, knowledge, skills or lived experience in community grants or community development to apply. Applications close on Thursday 21 November 2024.
Commitment requirements
Applicants should be comfortable using technology, have access to a computer and internet, and be prepared to use SmartyGrants, Council’s online grant application platform. Panel members will review applications online and complete an assessment/recommendation form.
Before their first round of assessment, Panel members will be involved in a SmartyGrants introduction and training session to ensure they are familiarised with the system.
Successful applicants commit to a four year term, participating in at least seven assessment rounds across two grant programs each financial year, based on the grant cycle.
Who can apply?
- Anyone who lives or works in the Maitland Local Government Area (LGA) and is over 18 years of age can apply.
- We are looking for people who have expertise, knowledge, skills or lived experience relevant to community grants or community development in Maitland.
