Wheels turning on Cessnock Road cycleway project
Construction on the new Cessnock Road Cycleway is continuing, with the Fishery Creek pedestrian bridge recently completed. The bridge was Stage 3 of a four stage project.
The design of the remaining stages for the full length of the cycleway is now complete and Stage 1 path construction works are currently underway.
Stage 1 involves the extension of the existing concrete cycleway from James Leslie Drive to Dagworth Road. Preliminary works such as tree removal will be commencing on Stage 2 (Dagworth Road to Fishery Creek) and Stage 4 (Fishery Creek to New England Highway) shortly.
It is hoped locals will be able to use the completed cycleway by the end of the year.
