Description
Council proposes to temporarily close sections of the following Maitland streets to conduct the upcoming Hunter Valley Steamfest 2021.
From midnight Thursday 9 September to 8.00pm Sunday 12 September 2021:
- Station Street, including Maitland Station car park area
From 6.00am Saturday 11 September to 8.00pm Sunday 12 September 2021:
- Church Street, from New England Highway to Railway street
- Railway Street
From 6.00am – 6.00pm Sunday 12 September 2021:
- Internal road through Maitland Park between main entrance and Maitland Aquatic Centre
Changes traffic conditions
From 6.00am Saturday 11 September to 8.00pm Sunday 12 September 2021:
- Allan Walsh Drive converted to one east bound lane from Ken Tubman Drive to Church Street
- West bound traffic no left turn from Steam Street onto Church Street
- East bound traffic no right turn from Steam Street onto Church Street
- East bound traffic left turn only from Allan Walsh Drive onto Church Street
Warning and detour signs will be installed where appropriate.

The closing date for comments relating to the special event is 4.00 pm Friday 6 August 2021.
Public comments regarding the proposed temporary road closures should also be forwarded in writing or emailed (addressed to the General Manager at the above address), endorsed ‘Hunter Valley Steamfest – Road Closures – File 122/944-2’. The closing date for road closure comments will be 4.00 pm Friday 6 August 2021.
