Harold ‘Mick’ Hinman lived in Maitland for his whole life and was a local cricket legend. Mr Hinman was a member of the Maitland District Cricket Club first grade team who won the Newcastle competition in 1943/44, played as part of the NSW Second XI that played at the MCG in 1939 and also played for Northern NSW sides against visiting international teams such as England and West Indies. In 2003, the grandstand and facilities at Robins Oval were dedicated in his honour.
