John ‘Whacka’ Graves was an international rugby league player who represented Australia in seven test matches between 1948 and 1951. In 1948 he played two tests and 20 tour games and was the side’s top scorer with 16 tries and 35 goals. John played for South Sydney from 1947 to 1952 and was the league’s top try scorer in 1951 with 28 tries in 17 games. In 2015, John was named one of Maitland Pickers 20 top players of all time.
