Council supports implementation of revised organisation structure

Following a review of Maitland City Council's organisational structure, councillors have unanimously approved a new, enhanced structure proposed by recently appointed General Manager, Jeff Smith.

When joining Maitland City Council in July last year, Jeff Smith was tasked with reviewing organisational performance, systems and processes, and fiscal position.

The structural changes will provide greater alignment to the goals of the Maitland +10 Community Strategic Plan, improve Council's financial position, and ensure organisational resources are coordinated in a way that best delivers services and future planning for the Maitland community.

The realignment will allow Council's workforce to be as effective and efficient as possible while resulting in a net reduction of four management roles.
