Media statement: Former Maitland Park Bowling Club update

We are aware of the community interest and speculation in relation to the cause of the fire at the Maitland Park Bowling Club in the early hours of Sunday morning. The matter is currently under investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.

What we can say is that the site has been handed to Council’s insurer and assessments are underway. Once outcomes are known a decision will be made on the future of the building. Works are continuing on site to ensure public safety and prevent access.
