Haussman Drive has been identified as one of the key roads requiring upgrading works to support the full development in the Chisolm and Thornton North under the Section 94 Contributions Plan (now known as Section 7.11).
The traffic generation from the Thornton North development will result in a significant increase in traffic on the existing local and state road network, generating a need for new and/or upgraded traffic facilities, roads, bridges and intersections.
The project will be delivered in three stages. They are:
Glenroy Street upgrade from Railway Avenue to Government Road including both intersections:
- Relocation of power poles and other utility services
- Upgrade to a signalised intersection at Railway Avenue and Glenroy Street
- Intersection improvements at Government Road and Glenroy Street/Haussman Drive
- Reconstruction and widening of road pavement in both Glenroy Street and Railway Avenue
- Drainage construction on Haussman Drive, Glenroy Street and Railway Avenue
- Drainage and pavement improvements of North and South Laneways of Glenroy Street.
Haussman Drive upgrade from Raymond Terrace Road to Taylor Avenue including both intersections:
- Relocation of power poles and other utility services
- Upgrade to a signalised intersection at Raymond Terrace Road and Haussman Drive
- Construction of a roundabout at Haussman Drive and Taylor Avenue intersection
- Reconstruction and widening of road pavement on both Raymond Terrace Road and Haussman Drive
- Construction of a shared path along Haussman Drive.
Haussman Drive upgrade between Government Road and Taylor Avenue:
- Relocation of power poles/street lights and other utility services
- Reconstruction and widening of road pavement in Haussman Drive
- Construction of a shared path along Haussman Drive.
