Maitland's indoor heated pool is 25 metres long and is open year round. The pool is used for swimming programs, including Learn to Swim and AquaFit classes. The pool offers disabled ramp access and is heated to a warm 28 degrees. It's open from 6.00am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 5.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter months.
Construction of the indoor pool
Following 14 months of construction, the 25 metre indoor pool was opened by Council’s General Manager David Evans PSM in July 2017. The $9.7 million facility features a large pool hall, and state of the art air conditioning and filtration equipment. As part of the construction process, there were also upgrades completed to the Maitland Aquatic Centre’s existing amenities.
The project was delivered as part of Council's Capital Works program, with funding provided through Section 94 development fees.
