PLANNING PROPOSAL – BRICKWORKS EMPLOYMENT PRECINCT – THORNTON NORTH
Date posted: 25 January, 2023
Closing date: 24 February 2023
Council has prepared a Planning Proposal to support the protection of high value environmental land and the development of a employment precinct at Thornton.
The Planning Proposal seeks to amend the Maitland Local Environmental Plan 2011 (MLEP 2011) to rezone 48 hectares of RU2 Rural Landscape zoned land at the corner of Haussman Drive and Raymond Terrace Road. The proposal seeks to rezone the land to a mixture of C3 Environmental Management, and B5 Business Development zones. In addition, the Planning Proposal seeks to introduce an Additional Permitted Use of a Food and Drink Premise over part of the site and remove land from the Mineral Resource Area map.
A copy of the Planning Proposal and supporting documents can be downloaded here.
