New look Harold Gregson Reserve ready to rock with live music and free family fun
Harold Gregson Reserve will come alive with music and family friendly activities as Maitland City Council hosts a launch event to celebrate its grand opening on Saturday 20 July 2024 from 2.00pm to 8.00pm.
The event features an impressive lineup of live music, including local talents The Quokkas and headliner Lane Pittman, best known for his recent appearance on the eleventh season of The Voice Australia.
Families can also look forward to a variety of engaging activities, including roller skating with the Maitland City Rollers and Maitland Roller Derby, interactive gymnastics activities hosted by PCYC and displays by the RC Car Club.
Council’s Coordinator City Events and Activation Adam Franks says, ‘we’re excited to activate all areas of Harold Gregson Reserve for the first time, including the new amphitheatre and events lawn.
‘We have an exciting lineup of musicians that offers something for the whole family. Our lineup includes local and inclusive children's group, The Quokkas; Hunter based country singer Saralyn; soul country band Magpie Diaries; and Golden Guitar nominee Lane Pittman, who recently supported country star Luke Combs on his sold out arena tour.’
The festivities will kick off with an official ceremony at 2.15pm, followed by live music performances from 2.30pm and culminating in a roller disco workshop from 5.30pm onwards.
‘We can't wait to see the community come together for a day of celebration and entertainment at Harold Gregson Reserve, exploring the new facilities and creating lasting memories,’ Mr Franks says.
The upcoming Harold Gregson Reserve launch event is free and open to all ages with no tickets required. For more information about the event schedule and participating artists, visit mait.city/HGRLaunchEvent.
