Adam Liaw to host exclusive dining experience for Maitland Riverlights 2024
MasterChef winner and 2024 Maitland Riverlights Ambassador Adam Liaw is partnering with local businesses to host an exclusive dining experience at Maitland Town Hall on Friday 11 October.
This unique event is part of the extended Riverlights program for 2024 and will feature a three course meal celebrating the diverse cultures represented at the festival.
‘It’s all about bringing people together to share memories, cultures and laughs over delicious food and wine,’ says Maitland Riverlights Ambassador Adam Liaw
‘The menu is a vibrant celebration of the diverse cultures and flavours represented at the Riverlights festival. We've got everything from the fresh, zesty flavours of the Pacific Islands with a white fish kokoda to the rich, warming spices of Sri Lanka with braised beef cheeks.’
The evening will feature catering by award winning Hunter based Sprout Catering, wine pairings from Morpeth based cellar door Boydell’s, live entertainment and a Q&A session with Adam Liaw, offering guests an intimate experience to learn about the stories behind the dishes.
Boydell’s Operations Manager Greg West says, ‘Boydell’s Wines is excited to be partnering with Maitland City Council for this exclusive Riverlights dining experience and we’re looking forward to pairing our wines with Adam’s menu.’
The dinner is just one highlight of the broader Riverlights festival’s week long program, which also features lantern making and cultural workshops plus many more activities across Maitland from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 October.
The festival culminates in the main event on Saturday 12 October when The Levee in Central Maitland will transform into a global village from 2.00pm to 9.00pm.
‘Bringing together more than 40 different cultures that make up the Hunter Region, Maitland's Riverlights is more than just a festival, it’s a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity embodying the spirit of community and unity,’ says NSW Minister for Multiculturalism Steve Kamper.
‘Riverlights is an event not to be missed in 2024!’
Tickets for the exclusive dining experience will go on sale Friday 16 August, with a limit of 10 tickets per booking. For more information on the dining experience and the Maitland Riverlights festival, visit www.maitlandriverlights.com.au.
