We encourage active ageing and want to celebrate the many benefits that the ageing population bring to our community.

Maitland’s population is ageing, reflective of the national trend, with the proportion of the population aged 65+ slightly increasing from 14.3% in 2016 to 15.6% in 2021. The proportion of the population classified as elderly, (75+) is 6.5%, lower than the NSW figure of 7.9%.
