Citizenship ceremony locations

Maitland City Council hosts Citizenship Ceremonies roughly six (6) times per year, including Australia Day and the Riverlights Multicultural Festival. These are often held at the Maitland Regional Athletics Centre, or Maitland Town Hall.

If you have received your invitation and would like to know more information regarding your Citizenship Ceremony, email the Office of the General Manager at executive@maitland.nsw.gov.au

Request an Australian flag

In the lead up to Australia Day, Council is giving away Australian flags to be displayed at private properties within the Maitland Local Government Area.

Expressions of Interest are open until midnight on Sunday 8 December. Submissions will be assessed for their suitability and, if appropriate, residents will be supplied with their choice of:

  1. 1800mm x 900mm Australian flag with loops suitable to be installed on an existing flagpole
  2. 900mm x 450mm Australian flag bracket and pole kit to be installed by the resident on an exterior wall

Please note: the number of flags is limited and an expression of interest does not guarantee a flag will be supplied. If supplied, the flag will need to be collected from the Maitland Administration Centre at 263 High Street, Maitland at a prearranged date and time.
