Ken grew up on his family’s farm in Osterley with his four brothers and sister. As a child, he was actively involved in the Maitland Police Boys Club and completed his education at Maitland Marist Brothers.

He started his career as a Fitter and Turner at BHP Newcastle Steelworks and transitioned to teaching after the steelworks closed. Ken pursued a teaching degree and spent 17 years at All Saints' College educating the next generation. He's currently the Assistant Principal at Hunter Trade College, committed to helping students develop essential trade skills.

A life member of a local cricket club within the Maitland and District Cricket Association, Ken is also passionate about supporting community events like Hunter Valley Steamfest and boosting Maitland’s tourism.

Ken values Maitland’s sense of community, describing its people as 'down to earth and welcoming, making it a wonderful place to live.' He moved with his family across the river to Maitland six years ago, following 17 and a half years of service on Port Stephens Council. With a wealth of local government experience, Ken is eager to bring his knowledge and passion to Maitland City Council.

'I thoroughly enjoyed my time on council and look forward to making a meaningful impact here in Maitland.'
