Annual Community grants
Funded initiatives foster community partnerships, promote access to community resources and encourage initiatives that provide benefits to the wider community. Maitland City Council’s Section 356 Community Grants Policy applies to this program.
Applications for Community Grants 2019 open from Monday 22 July and close Monday 2 September 2019. Guidelines are detailed within the application and applicants can apply for up to $5,000. Acquittal forms are required no more than 30 days after the activity has been completed.
These grants cover four categories:
Projects that meet an identified need for residents, foster opportunities for community participation and allow community to connect and celebrate with one another.
Projects that provide opportunities for residents to participate in a broad range of arts, culture and/or local history activities that enhance quality of life.
This category is funded by ‘Green Steam’ – an annual levy on Hunter Valley Steamfest tickets. Projects that connect the community with improving the environment and which comprise of local environmental recovery programs, renewable energy projects and greening initiatives that enhance health, wellbeing and quality of life.
Projects that provide opportunities for residents to engage in leisure and recreational activities with the aim of improving health, fitness and quality of life.
